Woodlands Estate is the historic homestead property in Gordonton. The property comprises the Woodlands Historic Homestead, a function centre, cafe and gardens, which are gardens of national significance.
Owned by Waikato District Council and administered by the charitable Trust Board. The principal object is to develop, maintain and manage the Estate in a manner so that the historic and aesthetic value of the homestead and gardens are preserved; public access to and enjoyment of the Estate is encouraged, and is maintained to a standard which is generally acceptable insofar as possible and financially self-supporting.
The Trust Board rules provide for trustee positions to be reviewed annually by an Appointments Panel. This year we have three trustees’ terms expiring and they are retiring from the board. The appointments panel is now seeking applications for appointment.
